Charly’s Vegan Tacos “CVT”

Charly’s Vegan Tacos is a must for any itinerary in Tulum. You’ll be reeling from the explosion of flavors and find that anything you order here is delicious, fresh, and filling.

The restaurant itself resembles a dreamy green hideaway with beautiful wicker hanging lanterns and festively colored calaveras on the tables. The music, lighting and space really allow you to dine in a casual yet trendy jungle setting. The food truck, once the restaurant’s main home, now sits in the center of its new permanent beach adjacent garden location on Tulum’s bustling hotel strip. It’s every foodie’s dream – cocktails and after-meal hammocks included!

Long after our trip we still measure up other Mexican fare to CVT because the food here is that memorable. Stop by here on your way back from the beach. You might be lucky and run into Charly himself!

The elotes were packed with flavor and a little spice – it gets a little messy though, as elotes often do.
The guacamango is a starter that is one to be reckoned with. It’s a uniqe combo that we hadn’t tried before.
Fried Plantain Banana with tofu and garlic cream, toasted pumpkin seeds and agave syrup
Charly’s Aguachile with portobello slices, palm hearts, cucumber, avocado and oven baked chips
Huarache (Doña Chonita’s original recipe) – mushrooms and porkless cracklings topped with fried beans, ‘cotija’ cheese, charly’s special avocado and fresh cilantro
Y ésa es la verdad.
Dining under this natural jungle canopy was magical
