Sometimes you just crave a bubble tea but everything around you is made with some form of animal-based milk, as is often the case in Japan. That’s why this spot was such a great find – it’s bubble tea, but made with soy milk and topped with soy curd. What a treat!
As per standard procedure, they’ll ask you how much sugar you want in it, as well as how much ice you want. The tapioca is served quite hot, though, so they’ll tell you to stir it quickly, with or without extra ice. The brown sugar is not too sweet and tastes delicious with the soy curd. If you’ve never had it before, the curd is gelatinous in texture but similar to tofu in taste. Stop by here if you’re ever in Shibuya!
